We were invited by the Jingzhou government to contribute a developmental strategy for the new Jinan District.

We believe the future of the city lies in a bottom-up approach where new development is initiated by a series of “acupunctures” in the urban fabric. These infills are responses to social pressures, enhance cultures and the economy, and create new social activities growth.

We developed four acupuncture techniques for Jingzhou:

  • CONNECT the old city: creating a mixed-use
    program

  • RIBBON CITY: artery integrates work/live zones

  • EDGE CITY: urban agriculture live/play zones

  • VENICE MODEL: waterfront recreation
